简介：Xue Jingyao had been plagued by illness since childhood. At the age of ten, she fell gravely ill and was on the brink of death. To save her life, her family entered into a strange, secret pact, designating her to become the Dragon King’s destined bride when she came of age, and imposing a lifelong ban on her having any intimate contact with men outside the pact. As an adult, she dismissed it as nothing more than a superstitious rural legend and never gave it a second thought. Yet a man in red who appeared in the dead of night, a friend’s split personality, her father’s mysterious coma, and the neighbours’ hidden, malicious schemes—one bizarre incident after another began to beset her. Her illusions were shattered, and she finally came to recognise the true nature of her destiny. To unravel the secrets behind the Dragon King’s betrothal and break free from these eerie shackles, Xue Jingyao thus sets out on a journey of supernatural discovery, the outcome of which remains uncertain.
