简介：For eighteen years, I, Althea Quinn Calder, wanted nothing more than ripped shorts, worn-in hiking boots, and a detector in my pocket. My family is famous across the stars as a glamorous treasure-hunting crew, but what almost no one knows is that our real wealth comes from tracking down alien artifacts buried in ancient ruins. At a charity gala on Sobek Station, I was forced into a sleek dress and high heels—only to realize the evening was anything but a simple social event. Our old nemesis, Alistair Draven, appeared again, watching us like a predator and hinting that he already knew about the secret mission my father had planned. Worse, my father had hired a new intern behind my back: Kaelan Frost, a brilliant student with sharp green eyes, a Capellan accent, and a dangerously distracting effect on my focus. I hated the idea of adding anyone to our team…until he joined our next expedition to New Haven. A dive into the wreck of the Queen Anne’s Revenge led me to a hidden metal box, a ruby ring, and a cipher linked to the lost lover of the infamous space pirate Edward Teach. That clue pulled us from a sunken ship to a guarded estate, then into a secret garden where the next message revealed something far bigger: Teach hadn’t just hidden pirate gold—he’d concealed the missing fortune of a destroyed Spanish treasure fleet. Every clue pulls Kaelan and me closer together, but it also draws Alistair ever nearer. He has shadowed every expedition we’ve ever taken, and this time, if he discovers what I’m carrying, the next treasure we uncover might be the one that gets us killed.
