简介：When young and devoted social worker Emma Lawson gets a call from an elite law firm, she’s stunned to learn she’s the unexpected heir to billionaire philanthropist Jonathan Kingsley—a man she met only once in passing. The fortune comes with a strange condition: Emma must live for one year in Kingsley Manor alongside Jonathan’s family, all of whom have been cut out of the will. Stepping into this world of glittering wealth and simmering resentment, Emma is quickly caught in a tangle of jealousy and deceit. The beautiful and calculating eldest daughter, Victoria, sees her as an intruder, while the dramatic ex–Hollywood starlet mother views her as a threat to her lavish lifestyle. In the midst of the scheming and power struggles, Emma finds her only refuge in the youngest son, Alexander, whose contempt for his family’s toxic games mirrors her own. Their fragile alliance soon ignites into a passionate romance that could upend the entire inheritance game. But as the clock runs down and the family’s greed turns increasingly dangerous, Emma must survive the treacherous world of money and influence. With every day in the manor, new secrets surface—and Emma realizes that the real challenge isn’t claiming the fortune, but staying alive long enough to keep it.
