简介：The story follows a young girl who is trapped in a remote mountain villa, where a series of bizarre events unfold with her captor. Li Xinyue, a young woman, joins a group of fellow hikers on a trip to a scenic area, but accidentally falls behind and stumbles into the villa owned by Xu Zherong. As she spends time with him, Li Xinyue notices his strange habits—most disturbingly, he sleepwalks at night and calls a mannequin "Mommy." Terrified, she tries to escape but is caught by Xu Zherong. During the struggle, she loses consciousness.
When she wakes up, she finds herself bound to a chair, her mouth taped shut. She struggles desperately but cannot free herself. Xu Zherong enters the room and glares at her menacingly, threatening to kill her if she does not do as he says. Overcome with fear, Li Xinyue nods frantically in agreement. From then on, the two are forced to coexist in a confined space, and both their emotions and psychological states undergo subtle shifts.
Director's note: The original title "Confinement" was chosen to convey that everyone is imprisoned by their own inner world. Xu Zherong is bound by his love for his mother, expressing that love in a sick and even murderous way—blunt and unreserved. Li Xinyue, on the other hand, is she truly imprisoned by the house or by Xu Zherong? She has opportunities to escape but does not take them—she too is confined by her own heart, by what she pursues and longs for.
In a closed space, without excessive scene changes, thrilling action sequences, or even intense conflict, the story centers on the collision of two inner worlds. It is both a psychological exploration and a probe into human nature.
