简介：In the early years of the Republic of China, a legendary tale unfolds deep within the old forests of Changbai Mountain. The protagonist Ma Hengyuan (played by Mou Fengbin) leads a group into the forbidden area known as Ganfanpen. The local bandit leader Bei Batian (played by Wang Baode), greedy and foolish, refuses to follow the rules of the ancient woods. The terrain of Ganfanpen is unique. Chuankou (played by Wang Hongqian)'s compass malfunctions, so Ma Hengyuan decides to rest on the spot and navigate by the stars at night. Bei Batian, skeptical, takes his men to scout ahead. They discover Xiu'er (played by Li Xinai) bathing in the river. Bei Batian harbors evil intentions, plotting to kill Ma Hengyuan and take Xiu'er for himself. At the critical moment, a woman in black appears and saves them both. She claims to be the guardian of the Dragon God, warning Ma Hengyuan and Xiu'er to leave Ganfanpen immediately or face certain death. During their rest, a ghost doll wreaks havoc in the camp, causing the group to turn on each other. When Ma sees the ghost of his wife Honglian (played by Ya Lin), he realizes it is all an illusion. He stabs his own thigh, the sharp pain snapping him back to reality and saving everyone. Later, they encounter an underground karst cave, where bandits are swallowed one by one. A cat-faced girl and a tiger appear, leading Ma Hengyuan and the others away from the dangerous cave area. The survivors enter Longxing Village, where they find a funeral being held for An Ruyi (played by Mu Lan). The bandit Lagu (played by Sun Hao'en) insults An Ruyi's "corpse," but the villagers dare not speak out. The village head arranges for the group to stay in the ancestral hall, warning them not to go out at night. The group dismisses this as the village head's superstition and pays no heed. That night, a vengeful spirit causes trouble, and the ghost wife takes Lagu away...
