Synopsis："Upon first entering the imperial palace, Huo Zhaohua deliberately put on an air of naive timidity and worldly ignorance. Beneath the pretense, however, she was meticulous-minded and ruthless. Having inherited her elder sister’s skills in both medicine and toxicology, she mastered the art of manipulating human nature. Shortly after her arrival, she fell victim to deliberate persecution and scrutiny from Noble Consort Rong, the most favoured concubine in the Great Xia imperial harem. Jealous by nature, the noble consort had a long-standing grudge against Huo Junhua. Struck by Huo Zhaohua’s outstanding beauty, she resolved to humiliate and suppress the young lady, ordering her to finish an unfinished ink jade peony painting of her own. Seizing the opportunity, Huo Zhaohua mixed paint using her own blood as pigment. The astonishing spectacle stunned all onlookers and secretly caught the eye of Emperor Zhou Yan, who watched the scene from hiding."
