Synopsis：Lily Henderson is ambitious but broke, desperate to leave behind her morally murky past. The day before the most important job interview of her life, she finally walks away from her controlling and abusive boyfriend, Mathew Gregor. To prove she’s done with him, Lily pulls a wild stunt during their dinner at a restaurant—she suddenly kisses a stranger, Tristan Hawthorne, and persuades him to play along. One thing leads to another, and they spend the night together. The next day, Lily shows up late for her big interview, only to be stunned when she discovers the company’s newly appointed CEO is none other than Mathew. Even more shocking, he hires her on the spot—but his motives are far from pure. A few days later, Tristan calls and asks to meet. He offers Lily money and a taste of luxury in exchange for pretending to be his fiancée to deceive his visiting mother. Torn and uncertain, Lily confides in her coworker and friend Elizabeth about Mathew’s bullying and harassment at work, and about the enigmatic man she met that night. Elizabeth also opens up about a mysterious man she’s supposed to meet… neither woman realizing they’re talking about the same person.
