Synopsis：Professor Ji Mancang of a northern university is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and decides to spend his remaining days in a coastal southern city. There he meets a sunny and optimistic girl named Xiao Xiaomei, and the two develop feelings for each other. To ensure her younger brother, who has autism, can properly learn the piano and music, Xiaomei ends up being controlled by a criminal gang. Moved by Xiaomei's sacrifice, Professor Ji rediscovers his love for life and the courage to face it. When Xiaomei is captured and taken to the gang's hideout, Ji risks everything to save her, ultimately giving his own life. Though he dies, Ji gives Xiaomei a chance at a new beginning and uses his savings to establish a scholarship fund for children in rural areas.
